Downtown Nashville Architecture Photography from the Sky – Part 1: Music City Center
Architecture by: Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates, Inc.
There isn’t a bad angle of Music City Center in Downtown Nashville … but it is REALLY challenging as an architectural photographer to not shoot an angle that hasn’t already been photographed. At one point I just decided to put my drone in the air to see what I could find from there. Even with the drone, finding interesting angles is a challenge because the building is surrounded by taller buildings and buildings at a higher elevation so you are limited with what you can see.
I am sure I can get more interesting angles, but this is all I had the energy for. Being from a smaller city of less than 100,000 people, a larger city is a bit intimidating. I haven’t quite figured out how to deal with the general discomfort of being alone with thousands of dollars worth of photography equipment in a strange city at night, so my shoots have lasted no more than 5 minutes and I am generally right next to or, in this case, sitting inside of my car with the doors locked. Fear takes a ton of energy, so I hope to be over that soon.
